We don’t need to escape into a virtual world.
Our city, towns and streets are not perfect; they can bore us sometimes and even depress us.
But this is not a valid reason to abandon them in favour of virtual reality.
We are not against technology or social media. They provide us with the shortest and easiest way to temporarily satisfy our curiosity, but they’re only an illusion.
Instead, our real challenge is to learn to observe more carefully what is already around us and, if we don’t like what we see, to start seeing things from another point of view.
We can’t change everything around us, but we can change the way we see things. And if we change the way we see things, our sense of reality can change.
By changing only our perspective, we can find exciting things in a dull street. Something ordinary can become extraordinary. A life problem can become a new opportunity.
It’s time to make an effort to look anew at what already surrounds us.
The city is ours.
